About Me

Hello! I’m Laura Brestovansky. I’m a freelance writer based in Michigan’s Thumb. I help people achieve their goals by crafting their messages through clear, compelling writing.

What kind of writing? It runs the gamut. I’ve done:

Articles (for magazines, newspapers, and websites),

Cover Letters,

Grant Proposals,

LinkedIn Profiles,

Product Listings,

Web Content

My professional career has spanned a broad spectrum of written communications. I was the editor of several newspapers for the Advisor and Source chain of community newspapers. I was also an assistant editor for the Air Conditioning, Heating and Refrigeration News. I was the first proofreader for the Lapeer Area View and frequently contributed news and feature articles. My freelance articles have appeared in The Oakland Press, the Macomb Daily, and The Michigan Catholic as well as on many websites. I also ghostwrote a memoir of a prominent Detroit-area philanthropist and wrote successful grant proposals for a movie based on the life of Léonie Martin, sister of St. Therese of Lisieux.

Most recently, I’ve crafted compelling résumés, cover letters, and LinkedIn Profiles for a wide range of clients worldwide. As a Certified Professional Résumé Writer, I delight in helping people take the next step in their careers, whether it be a recent high-school graduate looking for that first job or a former White House official from the Bush Administration.

In addition to writing, I’ve also edited and proofread a variety of documents. I always meet my deadlines with copy that meets and exceeds client expectations. Check out my Testimonials page for proof.

When I’m not providing quality content, you can find me enjoying family time, reading, playing a very amateur piano, or working at my church, where I’ve recently been appointed Director of Religious Education (DRE).

If you have a message but don’t know how to say it, please contact me. I’d love to work with you. Please see the Contact page. Looking forward to hearing from you.
